Legal notice
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This notice governs the use of the gpxtools.app website and of the GPXTools app for Android.
Owner
- Name: GPXTools
- Contact email: hello@gpxtools.app
- Website: https://gpxtools.app
GPXTools is a non-profit project: it is free, with no advertising and no paid features. The project can be supported with voluntary donations on Ko-fi, which give no access to any extra service.
Use of the service
You may use GPXTools freely to create, edit, analyse and share routes. You agree not to use it unlawfully, not to try to access other people’s data and not to overload or disrupt the service.
The files and content you upload or share are yours and you are responsible for them.
Guidance information and safety
Routes, estimated times, weather forecasts, warnings, slope angles, the avalanche analysis and the proposals of the AI assistant are guidance information obtained from models and third-party sources. They may contain errors and do not replace your own judgement, training, official bulletins or observation on the ground. Outdoor activities involve risks that are taken by whoever does them.
About the SOS button of the app: Android does not allow apps to call emergency services by themselves, so the app opens the phone with 112 dialled and the call is made by the user.
Intellectual property
GPXTools is based on gpx.studio, free software under the MIT licence. Map data belongs to its authors (OpenStreetMap contributors, ICGC, IGN, Mapterhorn and others), as shown on each map. Avalanche bulletins and weather warnings belong to the official services that publish them (EAWS, ICGC, AEMET…).
Links
GPXTools links to third-party services (Garmin Connect, Wikiloc, Komoot, social networks, Ko-fi…). We are not responsible for them: their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
Applicable law
This notice is governed by Spanish law. For any question, write to hello@gpxtools.app.
