Cookies and storage policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
GPXTools does not use its own or third-party cookies for advertising or tracking. It does keep some data in your browser or on your phone (local storage), explained below.
Strictly necessary
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase session (sb-…-auth-token) | Keep you signed in | Until you sign out |
| Local database of the editor | Open files and editor settings | Until you delete it |
| Chosen language (gpxtools-language) | Remember the language | Until you delete it |
| Light or dark mode | Remember the colour theme | Until you delete it |
| Ko-fi banner (gpxtools-support-banner) | Not show again the banner you closed | Up to 6 months |
| Web app cache | Work offline and load faster | Until you delete it |
| Android app: saved maps, navigation preferences and current outing | Offline maps and resuming an outing | Until you delete them |
They are needed to provide the service you ask for and do not require consent.
Usage statistics
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| gpxtools-vid (browser) | Random identifier to count unique visitors, with no personal data | Until you delete it |
| gpxtools-sid, gpxtools-sat (session) | Group the pages of the same visit | Until you close the tab |
If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, no statistics are sent. You can also delete this data at any time from your browser settings.
Third-party services
When maps load, the browser requests tiles from third-party servers (see the privacy policy). If you sign in with Google, or go to Ko-fi or a social network, those services may use their own cookies under their policies.
How to delete it
You can delete all this data from your browser settings (site data of gpxtools.app) or, in the app, from Android settings (Storage › Clear data). Doing so signs you out and removes the files and maps saved on the device.
